This song is a song I wrote about my time working in the NHS. I hope some of you can relate in some way to this song. I know it touches on some sensitive topics but it is the reality of healthcare in the UK and I wanted to write down that reality into piece of music. Every lyric is based off my actual experience on a General Surgical Ward in Liverpool. The work they do day in, day out is exceptional and so utterly important. They are the most caring people I know and I feel so proud to have worked with them and helped in the little way I could during my time there. Their work should be respected, rewarded and praised in my opinion, don't know what we'd do without them ❤️ Hope you enjoy!!

Bays full of patients and minds are bored
Patients are sleeping or trying to stand while they're waking for pain relief or iv drip stand.

Thery're there when we need them

What they cope with on the daily should be only in dreams
The weight on their shoulders should surely collapse, by the emotional black whole of impossible mass.

We'll hold you when you're leaving,
We'll hug you when you're grieving,
We'll make you look nice for your family on the day of you're passing.
Or we'll help you down the steps outside, and ring you a taxi or ride, say to get home safe and we wish you the best, in life.
